Okay so I love fall. Like looooooveeeeee fall. It might be my favorite season. It’s perfect weather for sweaters and ripped jeans, a hoodie and shorts, all different styles of boots, and of course pumpkin flavored everything!!! Although, moving in to fall means no more summer 🙁 Summer is the time to go to the pool with your friends, to get that tan you always wanted, and to just relax getting a break from classes, maybe even going on vacation. Summer was always a special time the last 5 years as I stayed on campus and got to enjoy the warm sun with my best friends…how awesome right? To reminisce about summer ONE LAST TIME, I will go through a few of my fashion “summer favs” from summer 2018.
HEY YOU! Yea you…put those Doritos down!! For me actually, it’s chocolate or cheese nips 🙂 If you’re like me, you find yourself reaching back into the pantry/fridge even though you ate about 20 minutes ago. OR, did you skip a meal/not eat enough and now are super hungry throughout the day? OR MAYBE, you’re just bored and want to eat? If any of these apply to you I think I can give you an easy solution!
Not too much here again this week! I am still watching from the sidelines – you would think I would have more to say about the game but it is much easier to speak from a field player’s perspective, trust me. Although, this week was a much better result. We beat VV Alkmaar 5-0 at home, yay! We honestly could have had a few more goals, but 5 is a lot and we did not give up more than 1-2 good chances defensively.
Not much to write about from me for Week 1. We started our division today, hence the “Week 1” title. Our division is titled the “Eredivisie” and we played FC Twente, supposedly one of the top teams in the division. So, we had a tough task ahead of us for week 1 you could say. Unfortunately for me I have been battling a nagging injury. Nothing serious, but the doctors here are much more cautious than in the states. Although I am frustrated, I’m sure my body is happy to have some rest.
For any of you reading that are/have been athletes, you know the word “preseason” is not always a fun one. Preseason for Purdue Soccer meant two weeks of two-a-days in the blazing heat, blisters from breaking in the new cleats, and the nerve wracking fitness test everyone anxiously awaits. Because of this, I was a bit nervous for the preseason with my new professional team. Of course I knew I was prepared, but any time you are training and not playing games it can become draining.
I was fortunate enough to travel to Zurich at the beginning of August with my new team, PSV, for training camp! This was my first time to Switzerland and I had no idea what to expect. The only thing us Americans think of is Swiss chocolate and Swiss cheese (lol). I never had the cheese while I was there, but I did have the chocolate and it was to DIE FOR! Something else I really enjoyed there was the jam. OMG. I had never had jam like this in my life. I am starting to realize the fruit in European countries is so fresh, probably because they don’t use preservatives like they do in the states (ew).
Here I am, my first blog post, yay! If you’re reading this I’m sure you’re curious as to where the name 200 Triumphs came from. I spent about a full week brainstorming different titles for my blog coming up with about 100 or so. Some included my name, some rhymed, some were lyrics, etc. As I was trying to narrow down the list there was always one name I couldn’t get myself to scratch off – 200 Triumphs, and that’s how I knew it was the right fit. It may not have my name in it or be the most catchy, but it perfectly describes my back story and the adversity I had to overcome. Not to mention, that’s the whole point of this blog, right? To inspire you all and prove that every triumph matters, big or small.
